FRIENDS

Fee: $20

Community

Friends of the Hive desire the opportunity to participate in extra field trips and nature and geography excursions without the weekly commitment of Nature Club or Cottage School. This is a great place for new friends and families to jump in at any time of the year to start building relationships in anticipation for joining more cell groups the following year.

Nature Club organizes the extra nature and geography excursions, and Cottage School organizes the field trips. There are several of these planned each academic year during Cottage School breaks or between terms. Some of these are local and some are planned with other hives for a bonding experience with our regional community.

Commitment

Friends belong to a local hive, are active in Basecamp, faithfully attend a CM Book Club, and participate in a reasonable amount of Mother Culture events. These requirements help keep the focus on building community rather than turning hives into field trip clubs. We want our parents to know one another on these outings and our children to look forward to seeing extended friends regularly.

There is no attendance requirement for the year, but we ask participants to sign up and pay on time for each event in which they choose to participate. The membership fee covers field trip deposits, administrative fees, and other supplies and it is non-refundable. You can read more about sign up and payment protocol in our
Policy and Procedures.

Commitment:
  • requires Basecamp activity
  • requires faithful attendance in approved CM Book Club
  • requires reasonable participation in Mother Culture events
  • eligible to attend extra nature and geography excursions
  • eligible to attend field trips
